About

Western Canada Freeride (WCF) was formed in 2018 to manage the demand for competitive freeride events in Western Canada. WCF will work to maintain the consistency and integrity of IFSA competitive freeride events in the region. Rapid growth of the sport has created the need for increased organization, administrative support, vision and advocacy to ensure sustainability.

The regional dues of $59 (full time membership) and $12 (one time members) collected this season will support a new Western Canada Regional Director position. The Director will be tasked with maintaining a variety of responsibilities.  A few examples include: strategic planning to ensure athletes get enough finishes in the IFSA NorAm series; targeting future head judge’s while verifying that appropriate training is made available; managing the schedule and facilitating communication between stakeholders and IFSA to ensure that Western Canada’s voice is well represented within our sport.

The funds will also directly support training opportunities to develop judges in Western Canada, as well as branding and special prizes at events.

WCF collaborates with coaches, resorts and team contacts year-round with the goal of creating the best competition experience for both current and future athletes within the sport.
